Because a Newborn Isn't Keeping Me Busy Enough...

I've decided to enter a contest for dress design for Shabby Apple dresses, I love designing clothes...it's the actual making them part that's the trouble. The top 15 designs will be on display at Shabby Apple's website and viewers will be able to vote for their favorite! So here are my ideas, wish me luck!

This is a maternity/nursing dress, it is a brown jersey knit fabric with a contrasting fabric on the sleeve edges and sash (in my mind the contrasting fabric is a yellow print). The dress is fairly loose and the sash can be worn just under the bust when pregnant or at the waist afterwards. The bodice can be opened for nursing.

This dress is made of white eyelet cotton with a lining of baby blue (or another pastel). It's a pretty basic dress shape but the eyelet fabric is my favorite part. It's actually modeled after my high school graduation dress that I designed and my mom made.

A faux wrap dress in a champagne colored silky fabric, the sleeve edges and belt are a Chinese brocade.
An evening version of the previous dress, faux wrap, floor length, gray silk with contrasting fabric in pink silk or black lace. The under side of the dress will be in the contrasting fabric, as well as the sleeve edges. An ornamental clasp is placed just below the bust line.

Meant to tell you they looked pretty. Had no idea that was another one of your talents. Though I think a bolder color under the eyelet would be nice. Like a dark steel gray. Isn't gray the "in" color this year?

Love the designs on their site. Aubrie didn't have good luck with what she ordered. But love the designs. And the little girl clothes she got with her exchange ... ADORABLE.

Go lizzo--look at you! Maybe you should start your own shabby apple, but better!
