Yesterday while on a bike ride with Matt, the event I've been dreading happened. I ran over a squirrel on the trail! It came out of nowhere, somehow got stuck on my right pedal, tumbled around a bit and ended up on my left pedal before it landed in one piece on the ground. I felt his fur around my legs as he was spinning around! He seemed ok and was lucky to miss Matt who was just a few feet behind me. I was grateful I stayed on the bike and no one was hurt. Then, after a 17 mile ride with maybe a tenth of a mile from the end, I ran into a SECOND SQUIRREL! This one just hit my wheel a little and bounced off. What are the chances of that? Two squirrels in one day! Quite enough excitement for me.

I've heard squirrels go especially nuts (no pun intended)in the fall.

I did, and I agree, they're nothing but trouble and there's not much you can do on a bike to avoid them.
Would've been cool to have a video clip of that. Only because everyone turned out OK. But it would've been cool. 8]
I remember how crazy squirrels were in the fall. There would be at least two dead squirrels on every street for a few months before winter
That would be neat, huh? I could've sent it to Funniest Home Videos or at least posted it on You Tube!
