House for Sale

The other day I walked out my front door to find a "For Sale" sign posted in our yard. We're renting, and our lease agent is with ReMax, so we were surprised to see that the sign wasn't ReMax and that we hadn't been informed at all. The first thing that went through our heads was that the owner defaulted on the loan, the house was being foreclosed and we would be kicked out despite having paid rent on time every month. To make matters worse, when we told the lease agent about the sign she was a surprised as we were! Apparently the owner is going to sell our house as a short sale and he somehow forgot that he has a contract with ReMax stating that if he wants to sell he has to go through them. So, our lease is up Dec 31 and we are now officially looking for a house. We'd been looking before but now we're approved with a lender and are getting serious. There is a chance we'll buy this house, it's a little smaller than we want, but it's a nice house, nice neighborhood (minus our break in several months ago) and to not have to pack and move everything would be fabulous!! So we'll see what happens, this means we'll be moving right around the holidays again, but not one week before Thanksgiving like last year!
