San Diego

Last week we drove down to San Diego, Matt had a blood banking conference and I, of course, made him take me along! Since I’ve worked a few years in blood banking, I always get to see former co-workers when I go to these meetings so I get to visit and sight see.

While Matt spent most of the days in meetings, I walked around the beaches, relaxed at the pool and did some shopping. The weather was 20-30 degrees cooler than Las Vegas, it felt great! Unfortunately Matt and my doctor said I couldn’t take my bike with me, party poopers:( So instead I visited Coronado Island, Balboa Park and Horton Plaza which is a shopping mall that feels like an MC Escher painting. Honestly, I don’t know how anyone finds their way around that mall. Taking stairs in one direction seems to put you somewhere other than what you expected and I spent several minutes in the parking garage trying to find signs leading into the mall, very confusing. We ate some great Mexican food, seafood and Matt and I also got to go the temple and the zoo. Sorry, Talia and Rachel, we didn’t go clubbing in the Gaslamp District or drive down to Mexico, but best of all…I didn’t have to go to work for a whole week!!!
