I just got back from a little trip to Northern Virginia. I visited my parents and took a prenatal yoga training. I decided to take the training a few months ago, Virginia was the only place where I could take the training, stay with family and it was offered early enough in the year before I was super big and pregnant. After booking my airfare I found the class was full! They put me on a wait list and about five days before the class they let me in, wahoo! The class was good, but since it was about pregnancy, all the women of course had to share their pregnancy and labor stories. I have to say, I'm completely sick of hearing pregnancy stories, they're never helpful, always sound awful and are all completely different. You would think it's reassuring that all the stories are different, but I also find that irritating because it gives me no frame of reference! Ugh. At least I know how to do a downward dog with a baby in my belly.
Tuesday afternoon Matt picked me up at the airport and had these waiting for me! Aren't they pretty?

Then last night we saw the Cirque de Soleil show, Mystere. They have great discounts on shows for locals, so we got a pretty good deal on the tickets. It was amazing, Matt said, "There's nothing like an acrobat show to make you feel like a complete wimp." And I found myself just laughing out loud at some of the stunts they did because they were so unbelievable. I really want to play on the rubber band swingy things they had, that looks like fun.

Ooh, I've always wanted to see cirque du soleil! How fun for you two!
I'm glad you posted your flowers!
Aren't Hubby's the best. Matt's a sweetie.
I will agree hands down on preg. and labor stories. The ladies with the most horendous stories always go first, and then just freak you out. And, I think it's like some unspoken rule that labor stories have to last at least 20 mins each. Come on, we really don't need to know how many stitches you got. YUCK!
All I can say is you are super fit and you'll do awesome because of it! Have fun in Yoga, that sounds awesome.
Here are my labor stories -
Child number 1) Didn't know anything, figured it all out as I went. Took 12 hours. Recovery was no biggie.
Child number 2) Knew everything, anticipated how everything would go. Took 3 hours. Recovery was REALLY no biggie.
There you go. So much of your labor experience is shaped by your past experience giving birth. Unfortunately, there IS a learning curve.
I think it's a "let's commisserate" reaction to see who can top the other with labor stories. I always find myself wanting to be seriously obnoxious when these women talk about these horror stories and talk about how I didn't feel a thing and didn't have any problems afterward.
How are you feeling?
Jen, that is the HARDEST part, having nothing to compare it to at this point. However, I can't complain too much, I have felt great. No sickness, I haven't been exhausted and I'm still wearing my regular clothes.
