Baby Aaron is here! Born 8-8-11 at 1:21 pm, 7 lbs, 5 oz, 19 inches.
After my first c-section I really wanted to try a VBAC for my second baby. Sammy was pretty big, almost 8 1/2 lbs so I thought that if I had a smaller baby I'd be able to do it. Thanks to my doctor's balloon catheter that was put in Sunday am; by Monday am when I went in for my induction I was dilated 3 1/2. Almost eight hours of pitocin later...I was only dilated to a four (just like with Sammy) and the baby wasn't taking well to the epidural (similar to Sammy as well) so we went with a repeat c-section. Aaron was a whole pound smaller than Sammy so I was pretty surprised it ended up being a c-section, but I'm glad I at least tried am satisfied with that. I guess it'll be scheduled repeat 'sections from here on out.
We're so happy to have Aaron home!
Sammy thinks the baby is pretty neat, but has also put the terrible two's into full gear this week.
I think most newborns look alike, but Aaron does seem to take more after my side of the family. Nielsen nose, Nielsen size, Nielsen ears (even though you can't see them in this pic).

What a handsome little guy with totally dark hair! The thing about repeat c-sections is that you know when they're coming! Glad everyone is safe and sound. Sammy seems HUGE in comparison! :)
Go, Liz! Some girls don't take the c-section like a champ, but it sounds like you did it in stride. He's perfect.
Sammy's two in full throttle,huh? he'll come around and maybe if you're really observant you can really diagram or outline the quintessential Sammy tantrum/demand cycle.
I hope your giving yourself chances to recover from surgery.
Oh, he doesn't look at all like other newborns to me. He is SO beautiful, my dear. You did a most excellent job on that one! I'm sorry to hear that you had to go with another c-section. At least everyone is fine now that it's all said and done. So happy for your family!
