After six weeks, yesterday was Sammy's "delivery" day! Matt and I were pretty excited, though I'd say the trip to the doctor was mostly traumatic for Sammy. He screamed the whole time they used the saw to cut the cast off, I was two doors down but still heard most of it. I just kept reminding myself that they weren't actually hurting him! The good news is that the bone looks great, bad news is Sammy's skin was about the worst the doc had ever seen. My first thought when I saw his legs was that he looked like a burn victim, but in a week the skin should be all healed. He hasn't been too mobile yet, the doc said it may even be three weeks before he starts walking, we're betting its sooner.
So here's a picture of him on his trike last night. After a bath, this was the first thing he wanted to do. Hope the leg doesn't look too bad, it's actually clean in this picture, I spared you the details.
Oh, and it feels so good to be able to hold him again! I could hold him before but it was pretty awkward, it's still a little awkward at 38 weeks pregnant, but so much better than before!

Yeah for the cast being off!! It looks painful though :( I bet he loves having it off still!

Oh sing praises!!! I'm so glad that nightmare is over. I have to say that although his poor leg looks awful, he sure is a cute little guy! Getter cuter all the time. Do you want to post a tummy pic? I'd love to see all 39 weeks of you :)
