Domestic Goddess, Here I Come

The other day I bought a big batch of strawberries and mangoes. I decided this year I'm going to try some canning (for the first time ever) and making freezer jam would be a good place to start. So this week I've made three batches of jam, a strawberry cake and a strawberry/mango cobbler today. The cobbler has been my favorite, I had some for first and second lunch!
I still have lots of mangoes, so they'll be used for our ward dessert party tomorrow, we're making sticky rice with mangoes.
What I really want to do is make my grandma's recipe for sweet pickles. Her's are the only pickles I'll eat and I guess the only way for me to get some is the make them myself. Unfortunately, at the height of cucumber season, I'll be either very pregnant or very busy with a newborn. Grandma's pickles may have to wait another year, but we'll see. Freezer jam wasn't a complete disaster so that gives me some hope!

Strawberry Mango Cobbler sounds amazing!! Please will you post the recipe or just e-mail me?

You need to read my post about "Cooking Mishap." I was thinking of you. :)

Inger-Lis made grandma's sweet pickles last year. Maybe you can get her to send you a jar.

Yes, I know Inger-Lis has made them, and I've given up hope of her ever giving me some.

ask Mom. I keep giving them to her for you. Don't blame me if they never make it
