So Much Fun To Be One!

Sammy turned one a few weeks ago, so here's the part where I gush at all the amazing and wonderful things he is doing. I promise, it won't take too long.

He LOVES people. He'll jump into anyone's arms; from another mom at the pool to a flight attendant on our plane. He knows no strangers.


Sammy recently learned how to manipulate us and show us what he wants. He grabs my hand and drags it over to a toy, bottle, light switch, whatever. Welcome to endless rounds of "turn the light on, turn the light off, on, off, etc." But now he's abusing the power. He'll grab my hand when I'm sitting down and once I follow him a couple feet into the middle of the room, he'll turn around and ask to be picked up. Several times last night while I was at the computer and Matt was in the living room, he would grab me and pull me over to Matt, and then let go. What is that supposed to mean???

How can a little guy make such a mess? My towels, shoes and a hairbrush are in the bathtub. There's a bath toy in my bike shoe and a pen in the laundry soap. I've given up on the pile of cds by my bed that he loves to play with.

Remember this? He hasn't lost his love of all things big and bottle shaped and will still choose to guzzle from my big water bottle over his sippy cup any day.

Sammy finally got his first tooth this week and in typical fashion (he doesn't do much by the book) it is a TOP tooth that has emerged. Crazy, but I'm glad to know there are teeth in there somewhere.

He sure is his own little person and I can only imagine what the next year will bring!
